Crawfish Season: Family, Food, and Flavor

This year’s crawfish season was one for the books. The weather was cool and perfect for hanging out in the backyard with family and digging into a feast. It was me, Erich, and Emma, my parents, and my oldest brother’s family, all gathered around the table.

We had several pounds of crawfish, plus plenty of potatoes and corn. The table was full and our hearts were even fuller. There is something special about everyone peeling crawfish, sharing laughs, and going back for seconds and thirds. It is a messy, tasty, and unforgettable kind of fun.

Every season, my parents make a special trip down to Kemah. It is a small city in Galveston with a great seafood district. That is where they go to buy the crawfish, shrimp, and crab. They know exactly where to go and always bring back the best of the best.

And let me tell you, Olokoi pairs so well with crawfish. That rich and zesty flavor paired perfectly with the spicy crawfish. It had everyone reaching for more. Whether you are a crawfish pro or just there for the corn, a dip of Olokoi makes every bite better.

This season reminded us what it is really about. Good food, good sauce, and great company. I cannot wait to do it all again next year.
